Natural health care comes from the desire to support one’s health using natural modalities. Herbal medicines, supplements, and diet are the primary ways that promote our health. Combining both ancient and modern approaches, the Natural Health Care Consultation designs a program to help your state of health move toward balance.
How can Natural Healthcare help?
Natural Healthcare can assist both acute and chronic conditions and is also used to promote general well-being. It can work in harmony with treatment that the patient may be receiving from another practitioner. Naturopathic Functional Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tui Na Acupressure Massage, Qigong, and Herbal Medicine as well as Dietary, Nutritional, and Lifestyle Counseling have been shown to be effective for an array of ailments.
Naturopathy is a healing system that focuses on the body's inherent ability to heal and maintain itself. Naturopathic philosophy is a holistic approach to finding the least invasive measures necessary for symptom resolution hence avoiding or minimizing the use of drugs or surgery.
The Chinese Medical System is one of the oldest holistic paradigms of health in the world. It is based on the observations of ancient Taoist philosophers watching the effects of human health in relationship to the seasons, the aging process, and one’s environment. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) includes a simple style of living centered on moderation and attunement to natural cycles as the key to a long and harmonious life. With its main focus on preventing disease as well as curing it, TCM is comprised of a variety of internal and external modalities such as herbal medicine, moxabustion, cupping, Qigong, Tui Na acupressure massage, and dietary therapy.
Pulse: Based in Chinese medicine, reading the pulse will tell about imbalances in a patient. 28 different pulses will be felt for; in addition 12 organ systems will be measured. Pulse is read through the patient's wrist.
Tongue: Analysis of the coating, topography, shape, and color all are interpreted to see which deficiencies or excesses are in the body.
Sclerology: The lines and color in the whites of the eyes are examined. The physical characteristics and lines of the sclera such as shape and location of markings are related and interpreted to systemic health.
Iridology: Patterns, colors, and shapes of the colored part of the eye called the iris. The iris can be examined to determine information about a patient’s health. This is then matched up to an iris chart, which is divided into zones that correspond to specific parts of the body.
Pressure points: Certain points on the body will tell the state of health of organs and systems in the body.
Physiognomy: Reading the facial color, lines, and shape will determine a person’s state of health.
Symptom-Sign Complex: Extensive analysis of complaints will be interpreted to create a picture of one’s state of health. Each patient fills out a history form in addition to dialogue with the practitioner.
Hormonal Interpretation: Measurement of pulse, temperature, sugar, blood pressure, urine, saliva, and symptomology can evaluate endocrine function and which glands are deficient or excessive.
